Freedom

Waking up with anticipation about the workout, we keep moving through the house to get everything together. We try and get out of the house like a cat so we don't wake the sleeping beauties. Morning has been an absolute joy this spring and early summer. We can not remember a time more suited for outdoor exercise.

The legs are tight and a bit sore. A couple of laps around the track will get the juices flowing and loosen things up. The air quality has also been wonderful. With every step, our awareness is increasing. We are waking up. Our heart rate is going up and we are breathing a little heavier.

What are we doing today? More exercise. One, two, three, four, keep moving. Easy up, here we go. The pace is picking up. Stop again, more exercise, line up and off we go. Arms are pumping hard now, the legs are turning over at race pace. We are cooking. At full stride, within 80% of max effort tucked into the pack,  we get the sudden feeling of relaxation. We realize that we are not going to die and we will make it to the end of the workout. Hammering away toward the finish, there is the since of accomplishment and a feeling of joy. It is over. With a smile and a nod, we leave for 23 hours before we will be back again.
