3 Peaks in Garden Hills

What started as a harmless Garden Hills loop this morning took the high road 3 times.

Frank Shorter, Olympic Gold Medalist said "hills are speedwork in disguise." Hills & Stairs are the cornerstone to the winter months Base Building. Base Building is the laying of a solid foundation. This foundation combines strength and stamina. Once the key components of strength and stamina are laid in concrete, the structure of SPEED can be erected.

As the days lengthen and warm, we will quicken the paces into a traditional "sharpening" for peak race performance. In the meantime, our legs will feel heavy and dull as we climb hills and stairs.

For those who feel like the workouts have been too easy, try making 5 in a row for 6 weeks in a row.
