Thanks Triple Nickel

It was a wonderful surprise. Triple Nickel made a substantial financial contribution to the MLK Day 5K. The 555 (actual amount was more) sponsorship will go a long way toward making the MLK Day 5K a FUN run. After all, despite Peachtree Rd Boot Camp being THE toughest hour in Atlanta, we absolutely insist on having fun doing it.

The race course is a USATF certified course ( Cert # GA11102WC). With the Atlanta Track Clubs new seeding program, Peachtree Road Race qualifiers can use the MLK Day 5K to register for all wave placements.

The race will be different than any other race. It will be Atlanta's First Ever road race on MLK Day! Road racing is the ultimate non violent demonstration. In 35 years of road racing, we have never seen a fist fight before, during or after the race. It is a peaceful way for all people to get together in their underwear and enjoy each others company while they attempt some personal goals.

We will have music, singing and dancing at the start/finish line. We have the commitment of 20 drummers that will line the race course, 1 about every 150 meters. They will give the race a unique vibe that will transform the 3.1 miles into fast parade. "The Boom Boom" will make the race.
