BriX

Big crowd. Happy smiling faces. Fast legs. Strong bodies.

We ran a mile warm up. Once warm, we picked up bricks. We ran with 5 pound bricks in hand. We stopped for military presses, back rows in plank position, triceps presses in plank, stair steps with military presses, lifts every direction the arms move, ect... All upper body exercise. We did three laps around the church. That is one and a half miles with bricks in hand. Once our upper bodies were pumped up, we ran. 2X800 with dips and push ups recovery. Front went (3.01, 2.59).

I have been hearing from some of our old friends. I sounds like our pack is going to grow when we go back to E Rivers. If you are proud of every workout (you should be), then invite friends and family to come and watch you strut.

Also, PRUMC Boot Camp does not believe in beating participants into submission. We want folks to continue their day feeling refreshed and ready to come back the next day. That is how we do it. We grind out 30 days plus per 6 weeks. We feel it is healthier to burn 600 calories 5 times a week rather than to blast 1000 X 3 days.

  1. Hey there Boot Campers,

Yes, I'm one of those snow birds who will return to E. Rivers in a couple of weeks.

In the meantime, consider registering yourself and your family for the Trinity Early Learning Center (TELC)'s 7th Annual Miles For Smiles 5K Run/Walk, Fun Run & Tot Trot on Saturday March 27th, at 8 am.

The course is pretty, challenging and in the back yard of most boot campers—it starts at Trinity Presbyterian Church, corner of Moores Mill and Howell Mill Roads. In addition, for the boot campers in training, there is a 9am fun run for 6-12 year olds (big loop around the church), and a short tot trot for 5 and under (length of the parking lot). For an extra workout, strollers are permitted in the 5k!

TELC is a top-notch, NAEYC-accredited, not-for-profit early childhood developoment center, and the race's proceeds benefit TELC's scholarship fund.

    Early Bird Registration (by 3/25/10):
    $25 Adult
    $10 Child under 18
    Race Day Registration:
    $30 Adult
    $15 Child under 18

Send me an email at christine.quillian@gmail.com, and I will be glad to email you a flyer and registration form or register at www.active.com.

See you sooner or later...at the race or at E. Rivers!

    Christine
