Boot Camp is now assembling in Sports and Recreation at PRUMC. The winter version of the church run starts at the top of the hill and heads south on Peachtree. We stopped at the triangle at Roswell Rd, the waterless fountain at Nava, and the fluffy grass at Brio on our way to Church Turn (Jesus Junction if you prefer). We knocked out 50 dips at St. Phillips Cathedral, 100 oblique crunches at Catholic Cathedral, Crab walked down and ran up stairs at Baptist then ran to Garden Hills. We did our second set of stair step aerobics at Garden Hills playground, then ran to G. H. Elem. where we did crunches on the new grass. After side plank crunches at A.I.S. we cut up Peachtree Ave to the back boor and trail into Frankie Allen. We did one set of stairs and 50 push ups before heading back to the warmth of PRUMC.
Yes it was cold but if we had stayed in the gym, we would have nothing to brag about all day. "Oh my, you worked out outside this morning?! You are crazy." No, actually our physical, mental, and spiritual fitness is fine. No one in the gym quietly gazed at the stars this morning while hugging mother earth. They were likely hearing Lady Gaga belting out hits at volume 10 while striking a pose in the wall to wall mirrors. Not that there is anything wrong with that.
3 1/2 miles, 600 reps. Medium day for this group.
