There is a feeling we can get. The feeling is very rare. It doesn't come often. It takes a ton of work to get to this place. The place is where running feels like flying. The phenomenon can also be explained as "floating." The experience can be had when we are in fantastic shape, running fast and relaxed.
side note: I can remember running on the beach on Sullivan's Island one Summer night. It was near midnight. It was low tide on a New Moon. It was so dark I could not see my feet. I remember becoming completely relaxed in the total darkness. My pace began to increase until I was running near 100%. Given my age and fitness, It is likely I was maintaining 15 mph. I never felt my feet hitting the packed sand. Since I couldn't see and couldn't feel, the continuous motion of my arms and legs created the sensation of flying.
